Secondary Courses

The Secondary Courses, offered by the All India Council for Open Education (AICOE) through its Coordinators and Centres under a Membership Scheme under the internal academic programme, are designed for learners who have successfully completed education up to Class VIII or equivalent.

These courses provide opportunities for further learning and skill development to support personal growth and potential career pathways. The course is named Level-1 Secondary Foundation Course and is a non-formal educational program aimed at building foundational knowledge and competencies at the secondary education level.

Students can select subjects from the prescribed scheme of studies. To successfully complete the course, students are required to pass a minimum of seven (7) subjects, including at least one language subject.

Important Legal Note:

AICOE’s Secondary Courses are non-formal and autonomous, and are not recognized or affiliated with any Government Board, Council, or University. Certificates issued under this program acknowledge completion of the course but do not guarantee eligibility for formal higher education or government- recognized qualifications. They are intended solely for personal development and self-employment awareness.
